Should I take my laptop on holiday with me?

I am going to Majorca via plane for two weeks this august and my camera memory card is only 2gb, so I would like to be able to put the photos on my laptop once the camera gets full. Is this the most efficient way to do this? Is there any other way to store photos safely and free up space?
