Miami international airport Security?

like 2 years ago i went to ecuador on vacation and they don't really use lighters over there so i had an el sol match box with like 40 matches in it. i thru them in my carry on bag when i was leaving to go back to the united states and when i got home i relized they didn't notice i had matches in my carry on bag that was accessible on board a plane and i was flying on LAN....Now what do you think would of happen to me if they spotted that before i got on the plane?
